PIM Testing

Passive Inter-Modulation (PIM) testing has become synonymous with antenna system installation and maintenance. The activity of testing requires investment in equipment and personnel training which began in 2010 and continues with the rapid deployment of Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. Understanding the potential sourcing is critical to troubleshooting. Troubleshooting remains a scientific art in the industry nsoro MasTec has assisted several carriers in developing standards and techniques for cost efficient resolution.

nsoro MasTec can handle:

  • Manufacturing defects: jumpers, antennas, and main line components.
  • Workmanship issues: improper torque, loose connectors/connections, connector contamination, poor terminations (poor connector installation), and "tuning" to pass VSWR specifications.
  • External source locations and resolutions.
